Buildings often contain clues as to when they were built, who built them, or the names they were given.


Inset stones in the brickwork are often where we find these clues. Also, the information may be inscribed in boundary walls or take the form of pictures, for example in a gable wall or sign on a public house.


This small picture gallery is a collection of Cradley buildings where these clues survive.
