Pocket Money 3

 

All of Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s children are going on holiday.

In 25 weeks time they must each have saved £20.00 towards the cost of the holiday.

The children need some help to sort out how much of their pocket money they can spend

each week, yet, still have saved £20.00 in 25 weeks time.

Useful formulae:

=SUM(A1+B1) Addition

=SUM(A1:A20) Addition of a set of numbers

=SUM(A1-B1) Subtraction

=SUM(A1*B1) Multiplication

=SUM(A1/B1) Division

 

1. Produce a spreadsheet to clearly display the information shown below.

 

2. Add a column to show the amount of money saved in 25 weeks.

 

3. Add a column to show the shortfall  (£20.00 - amount saved in 25 weeks )

 

4. Apply currency formatting to any cells that contain money.

 

5. Change the values in the Spends / Week column until the values in the shortfall column reach 0 for each child.
